Lavinia Borcau owns and operates Lavinia Borcau Skin Care, established in 1993. Since founding the salon, Lavinia has earned the highly-coveted CIDESCO International Diploma, the most advanced professional skin care degree in the world.

A native of Romania, Lavinia graduated from the Academy of Economic Study in Bucharest in 1979 and worked as an economist until 1989. While her work in economics proved challenging, it did not satisfy Lavinia's true passion: skin care. As she worked full-time, she studied at the Esthetic School in Bucharest and received her diploma in 1987. After several years of professional employment in Romania, Lavinia came to the US in 1990.

In 1993, she opened her Skin Care salon. The business expanded in 2003 to a European Day Spa, offering a full suite of massage as well as a beautiful yoga studio.

Lavinia never tires of researching the newest skin care technologies and travels the world in search of the latest treatments for the skin. She does not rely on technology alone, as the best skin care can only be delivered using methods that jibe with Old World philosophies. Lavinia Borcau Skin Care has been recognized as a premier salon and has received such awards as Boston Magazine's Best of Boston in 1993, 1994, and 2004, as well as Improper Bostonian's Boston Best 2001 and 2002.
