Vinyasa Yoga is an energetic form of yoga practice that maximizes strength, revitalizesthe body's immune system and develops flexibility. This 4,000-year-old system combines full, rhythmic breathing with a series of asanas, or postures, which relax the mind and enhance well-being.
In a Vinyasa Yoga class there is always more or less stretch to the postures,but never “right” or “wrong.” As long as you are aware of body alignment and let your intuition guide you, you will express your variation of the pose naturally. The class is athletic, but done at a pace that anyone can enjoy. Modifications are clearly demonstrated. The emphasis is always on enhancing balance.
Vinyasa Yoga is equally attentive to the front and back of the body. Following a back stretch with a chest stretch, for example, strengthens the hamstrings as well as the shins. Several inversions and spinal twists increase blood circulation, create internal heat and rejuvenates every cell, lifting your prana, the flow of energy.
You will leave the Yinyasa Yoga class feeling lighter and clearer, not exhausted.
